About

This design nerd

Allow me to introduce myself! If you were wondering about my name, it's of Russian origin and means "born on Christmas day," and I am neither Russian nor born on Christmas day.

I am, however, a senior double-majoring in New Media & Digital Design and French at Fordham University's Lincoln Center campus in Manhattan. I love all things design (typography, web design, branding & identity systems, editorial and publication design, you name it) and have a tendency to stay up much later than I should on the Adobe Creative Suite.

I'm passionate about design because it allows us to not only communicate information in seamless and exciting ways, but also to communicate personality and emotion. Good design and attention to detail will not only make someone's consumption of a website flow smoother or give them a strong initial impression of a product, but it will allow them to truly engage with a company and get a sense of its personality.

When I'm not staying up late designing, you can find me exploring the city with friends, eating just about any food you can think of (from bibimbap and helado de coco to chicken makhani and kakigōri), jamming to some obscure alternative bands with groovy guitar riffs (like Last Dinosaurs & Tame Impala), and brushing up on my Japanese. Since I'm a total foreign-language nerd, I just got back from a French linguistic immersion study abroad program in Paris.
